In the packaging field of electronic products, instruments and equipment, and hardware accessories, white integrated pearl cotton lining can often be seen. Many people are curious why pearl cotton is preferred as the internal protective support for precision products, even though they are cushioning packaging materials? Below, based on the characteristics of the material, we will explain it to everyone.

Pearl cotton, full name of expandable polyethylene foam, is a new environment-friendly foaming material with non crosslinked closed cell structure. Its characteristics are outstanding buffering and seismic performance, flexible texture, and the ability to absorb impact force when impacted, avoiding direct scratches and bumps on the product. Compared with traditional foam, pearl wool is not easy to break and chip, and will not produce dust pollution to precision components, which is particularly important for electronic and instrument products.

Pearl cotton also has good plasticity and can be customized into an integrated inner lining according to the product's shape through deep processing techniques such as cutting, stamping, and heat bonding. The grooves and protrusions of the product can be accurately replicated, allowing the parts to be firmly stuck inside the packaging without shaking back and forth during transportation, playing a role in positioning and fixing. At the same time, the material is lightweight and will not increase the overall weight of the packaging box, helping to reduce logistics and transportation costs.

Moisture resistance is also a major advantage of pearl cotton. The closed cell structure is not easy to absorb water, and can reduce the erosion of metal accessories and circuit boards by water vapor in storage and long-distance transportation environments. Moreover, pearl cotton is an environmentally friendly material that can be recycled and reused, meeting the low-carbon requirements of current product packaging.

Industry insiders have introduced that there are also selection distinctions for pearl cotton. High density pearl cotton has higher hardness and stronger load-bearing capacity, suitable for heavier precision equipment; Low density pearl cotton is softer and suitable for outer shell products with easily scratched surfaces. Customize the irregular lining according to the weight and shape of the product in order to fully utilize the protective effect of pearl cotton.

However, pearl cotton is not a universal packaging material and has limited high-temperature resistance, making it unsuitable for storage in high-temperature environments. When designing product packaging, enterprises need to comprehensively evaluate the transportation environment and product weight, and select pearl cotton liners with appropriate density and structure to better protect the safety of goods.
